Hey it’s that time of year again where there’s lots of parties, celebrations, music and dancing.  This week/end is a busy one as usual so check out the Events page to keep up to date of where I’ll be spinning and when.

This Saturday I’ll be debuting my solo performance on Trumpet at the Beef Ball so be sure to check that out.  For those that are working or can’t make to the Beef Ball, I’ll be spinning the closing set for the Sunday street party on the Centre Stage (next to O’Grady’s) so come here me play and perform there from 10-11pm.

We’ve been experiencing some issues with our web server and host the past few days, so you may have noticed the site has been inaccessible or realllllly slow when loading pages…

Inspired by my recent trip to Chicago for IML weekend I wanted to put together a deeper CD with a playful naughty mood that’s great when the lights are low. The journey starts with some eastern sounds and instruments to give that exotic feel infused with slow sensual rhythms and distinct layers that awaken the ears and heighten the senses. This journey is definitely a tease throughout and has a ‘back & forth’ momentum of ‘give and take’ leading to a rush in the middle where the tempo slowly picks up with pounding grooves. From minimal beats and sounds to chunky rolling basses you’ll definitely hear a masculine undertone with a depth and height that create an atmosphere easy to lose yourself in. Enjoy!

A quick update to let you know that you can now comment on any of the CDs in the Music area without logging in to the Member area (still under development BTW!)

I have just spent about 10 hours updating the site with an all new design! I’ve developed the new design using my text editor of choice (TextMate at the moment) and Safari on my Mac. I have tested the site with Firefox (which renders almost the exact same as Safari), but I’ve not tested it in IE7+. If there are any display issues with IE I will address them as soon as I can. I hope you like the new look! New functionality will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

Over the next couple of months there are some exciting projects on the way which include a new CD geared to this year’s IML competition in Chicago.  Look for me that weekend l’ll be promoting at the Steamworks booth at the host hotel as well as 2 sets at the Chicago location - check out the events page for more details…

This Toronto-based DJ, who’s passion, energy and sexy beats, has brought dance floors to life for almost 10 years – he knows music.  Classically trained on trumpet, this artist has been making music since he was able to get his fingers on a piano at the age of 4 and then any other instrument he could.  Neill started to play and create sounds on the piano and continued his journey through high-school and university studying many genres including brass, jazz, funk, ensembles and singing to name a few; all while working towards his degree in music education at the University of Ottawa.  It is this deep foundation that gives Neill a unique sound that is truly music to your ears.
